Mr. HRISTO STOICHKOV was voted Player of the
Nineties by the Irish Times Newspaper gaining more than
25% of the votes. Second is Robbie Baggio with
21.75%. Mr. STOICHKOV entered Barcelona FC all times team
since he was the first Barca Golden Ball Holder back in
1994. The former CSKA Sofia player got second place in
a nationwide vote for the Man of Century in
Bulgaria in the Below 30 years old group, preceeded only
by the President Petar Stoyanov. The National survey
was won by Petar Stoyanov, second is the writer Ivan
Vasov, third is King Boris III, fourth is the former
communist country leader Todor Zhivkov, fifth is His
Majesty HRISTO STOICHKOV and sixth is the current King
Simeon, who lives in Spain. HRISTO was 12th with 34
points at the Bulgaria Sportsman of 2000 competition.
