surf. Check for dawn patrol barrels at the beachbreaks.

Caribbean - The right coast is flat and no relief is in sight through
Friday.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana at Pura Mar Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones:
Heavy rains the last few nights had the ocean chocolate brown for a
few days. Very stormy conditions with wind straight on shore. This is
normal for this time of the year and luckily the system seems to be
passing. Lluvias fuertes en las noches hicieron el mar el color del
chocolate por algunos dias. Las condiciones del tiempo son muy
tormentosos con el viento directamente on-shore. Esto es normal para
el fin del invierno y por dicha el temporal parece que se esta
pasando.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): There's enough swell in the ocean to
make some nice surf, but wind and weather conditions aren't letting
it form up. Hay suficiente swell en el mar para surfear, pero el
viento y las condiciones del tiempo no permiten que se forman buenas
olas.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: WHEN THE WATER IS CHOCOLATE
BROWN FOR GOD'S SAKE DON'T GO IN IT. EAR INFECTIONS ARE THE LEAST OF
WHAT YOU COULD GET! IF YOU WAIT, THE WATER WILL CLEAR UP. IF IT
DOESN'T, IT'S BECAUSE THE WATER TABLE IS STILL TOO HIGH AND YOU DO
NOT WANT THAT %$#! IN YOUR BODY. CUANDO EL AGUA ES EL COLOR DE
CHOCOLATE POR DIOS NO SE META! INFECCIONES DE LOS OIDOS SON LO MENOS
DE LO QUE LE PUEDE PASAR. SE USTED ESPERA, EL MAR SE ACLARARA. SI NO
LO HACE ES PORQUE LA TIERRA ESTA TODAVIA SOBRESATURADA Y USTED NO
QUIERE ESTA %$#^! EN SUCUERPO.

** From Joe at Witchs Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - The surf has been quite windy
these last few days. Early morning high tide sessions have been fun,
but onshore winds have made the mid-day and afternoon surfs a bit
bumpy.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - It looks like we'll
see a slight increase in the surf, reaching the shoulder to possible
head high range. There is also a sign of the first NW swell of the
season. Does this mean the offshore winds are going to start soon?
Probably not, but hopefully the wind will at least die down a bit and
let us get some clean surf.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - With the lack of any
true size, local beachbreaks will see the best surf if the winds stay
down. If the winds continue to howl, find a local reef and hope for
some sets.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS-

Low season booking specials at the WRSC Surf Resort Hotel- check
www.witchsrocksurfcamp.com for more information.

JACO & HERMOSA

** From Chuck at Chosita del Surf Shop in Jaco -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones:
Jaco at its finest in the mornings except today [stormy] almost all
tides are working well and actually had a couple of days at Hermosa
and when I arrived back home it was even better out front! Size today
was 3-4 ft faces with a couple of thumpier ones and waiting for a
break here at LOW TIDE to hunt down a barrel or 2 ! Winds are
unpredictable for sure so you gotta be on it !

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales:

November 12th is the day of Classic memories and the whole crew from
Sundeck will be in Jaco for a beach fiesta at the Best Western . Ex
world Champion [1977] Shaun Thompson will be in the store to hand out
some autogrphs etc. He has a new clothing line that's kind of retro
but groovy at the same time called SOLITUDE and he will be here
promoting the line and mabe sneaking off for a surf with us ! Come on
by or call 643-3844 for some more + up to date surf or event news .
Also a young lady from Jaco Andreina Samudio one of the riders for
our shop is trying to put together the funds to get to the Junior
World Championship in Tahiti and is looking for some conomic help .
Her needs are @ 1200$ and so far between Alvaro Solano{VISTA GUAPA
SURF CAMP} ,Andrea Diaz {www.wavescr.com} and ourselves at
www.surfoutfitters.com we are almost halfway there. Possible big
sponsor with Economy Rent A Car in the works but she still needs some
help .Any donations will be handled by us and will get to the right
place ! This girl surfs hard and is one of the most consistent and
hard studying/surfing/working surf girls I know so help her if you
can, Thanks Again ! Chuck !

QUEPOS & MANUEL ANTONIO

DOMINICAL & OSA

CARIBBEAN

* From the Cashew Hill Lodge in Puerto Viejo, overlooking Salsa Brava
-

We have small 2 - 3 ft. waves at beach break... great for learning
and okay for locals and other surfers. Not much of anything at Salsa
or Playa Negra. Only place to surf here, this weekend, is Beach Break
at Playa Cocles. Rain is in the forecast for this afternoon, Friday.
Carnival in Limon has its last day tomorrow. Lots of music, dancing,
arts and crafts, clothing, furniture, food, drink, etc. Carnival is
on the beach this year, not in the center of town. Many people say
the beach is a better location.
