NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - The SSW swell predicted from last week to be 2 foot
overhead will arrive Sunday, with a 15-second period, and it will be
amazing. It grows Monday to double overhead in the north Guanacaste
before dropping back down Tuesday a foot. Then Wed. it picks up to
double overhead in the southern zone through Thursday afternoon.
Expect to see sets blocking the horizon. It backs off both coasts by
next Friday, but still 1-2 foot overhead. Best days - dawn patrol all
week at the beachbreaks and mysto spots, going from mid to high tide.

Caribbean - It is flat. Expect dribble through Friday and hope for
long range swell from Jeanne to bring knee to waist high relief for
next weekend.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana at Pura Mar Surf Shop in Tamarindo (www.puramar.com)-

Sorry there's not a lot of good news to report this week. The wind
has been blowing on shore 24 hours a day for the last week and the
ocean is a mess. There's a fair amount of swell--in fact this morning
waves were breaking out in the middle of the bay. The problem is that
it's super-sloppy and dumpy. It's been raining every day in the early
mornings and in the evenings, leaving the days humid and somewhat
sunny.
mucha humididad.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): As the high tide comes around to dawn
there may be hope for some decent early morning sessions this
weekend. That and this wind can't go on forever...

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: If conditons remain the same,
the Capitan Suizo should be the best. It's the most protected and can
work in a south wind.

** From the Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

The waves have been running head high to just over head with
occasional decent shape (unusually good for this time of the year).
The afternoon showers are helping to glass it off. There have been a
few days this week that never cleaned up at all. There was some run
off silt in the water on Thurs., but we haven't been hit
by "chocolate milk" surf yet.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): Now that high tide is moving into the
morning hours, conditions should improve. We are not encouraging
people to come out here right now, but you can take your chances with
the light crowds.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: The swells are coming straight
in and anywhere in the bay that's smooth is a possibility.

** From Tropico Latino Lodge in Santa Teresa (north of Mal Pais) -

We are praying for everybody in Golf of Mexico. We are in a safe zone
here in Santa Teresa. The weather is still sunny almost everybody and
the waves are nice and glassy every morning till 10 am. El tamano
is "chest to he head" to "overhead", parece va a estar bonita playa
Santa Teresa todo el fin de semana.
