AREA REPORTS
NICOYA (N)
** From Diana at Pura Mar Surf Shop in Tamarindo (www.puramar.com)-
Hey! So it isn't a lake anymore! A little bit of a swell came in
yesterday kind of from the west, it seems or at least not straight
south like they've been. The waves haven't been that big (waist to
chest) but so nice! The high tide is in the morning right now, so
getting out there at 7 or 8 has been perfect! And the greatest treat
of all is that I can surf right out in front of the shop without
having to battle 400 people!! Wow. I love the rainy season! True
there aren't many lessons and sitting in the shop is unbearably
boring as no o ne comes in, but if it means I can surf I'm not
complaining!! The wind stayed off shore until 10:30 or so and the
waves just kept coming. I actually got kicked around pretty bad by
one set that rolled in right before high tide. Amazing that waves of
that smallish size can actally be heavy enough to yank the board out
of your hands and roll you around. Can't wait till tomorrow.
** From the Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -
AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones:
This week has been unseasonably good with light offshore winds
throughout the morning hours combing out a nice head high swell.
Today, Friday, is a bit messier but there's still swell in the water
for the takers.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este

look forward to, before the onshore winds kick in during the late
