=v= I am constantly amazed at the way Critical Mass evolves.
Here's a little snippet from Usenet, an exchange between
somebody who got a first glimpse at the ride in Vancouver,
B.C., and somebody sort of trying to explain what's going on.

Yeah, it's a celebration of stupidity. That's not always a bad
thing.

It's about everybody owning the streets, not just drivers. It's
about having fun and making the cagers envious. It's about being
so damn sexy on a bike that they're left totally emasculated in
their impotent wheelchairs. Or not.

The CM rides start at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Georgia St. (by
the fountain) on the last Friday of every month. People meet
around 17:30 This next CM is the Halloween Ride and is generally
one of the best attended of the year. Costumes and noisemakers
are a traditional part of the celebration.
The Saturday night thing is a Freaky Fetish and Fantasy Ride.
It's an off-shoot of the Wholesome Undies Race. There's a
Velolove Listserve starting up with more information. For now
it's the second Saturday of the month and starts from 6th and
Ontario by the big orange house at 21:15 sharp. Show up early
for dressing up. The ride ends at some twist joint in the west
end.
