This site was set up to support disc golf in the greater Harrisburg, PA area. The Creekside Disc Golf Course is located in East Pennsboro Township, off Erford Road at Ridley Park. While it is the home course of the Creekside Crawdads, anyone can play here; in fact, many do enjoy disc golfing at Creekside.
The course is narrow and tight, emphasizing controlled throws. There are 18 DiscCatcher Pro baskets and concrete tees. Each tee area has hand-painted signage for suggested flight path, distance to basket, and par for the hole. Arrows under the baskets point the way to next tee. A scorecard box is located on hole 1's tee sign. 6 of the holes have alternate pin positions and 2(holes 6 & 8) have alternate tees instead of pins. There are also shortened tee positions(natural turf w/ kickboards) for the smaller arms.
Creekside is a great beginner and recreational course because of its openness yet there are enough obstacles to challenge more advanced players like hole 16's elevated tee. Beware the 'mighty' Conodoguinet Creek that is a natural boundary. There is a "recovered disc" box on the fence around hole 9's basket and every effort is made to return them to their owners(name, phone, email, etc. is very helpful to this end). The backyards of the residents who live along the park offer the opposite boundary.
The distances vary from 3752' from the shorts to 6142' in the longs, averaging 209' to 320', respectively.
A nice mix of shots for every throwing style can be either developed or practiced. Hyzers, Anhyzers, Straight-On, Rollers, etc.
Ridley Park is on 16 acres along the Conodoguinet Creek. The amenities include an updated playground, a walking path, a pavilion w/ 3 charcoal grills, volleyball court, baseball field, & basketball court. All of which are included in the design of the course to be played away from so as to not interfere with non-throwers using the park.
