Opening Day Corkball in St. Louis   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #323 of 331 |

The teams are set and opening day for the South St. Louis Corkball
League is Sunday April 17th at the Don Young Corkball Fields in
Jefferson Barracks Park. This is the 69th opening day for the club.

Kutis Funeral Homes, AMG, Reinhold Flooring, and Reinhold Electric
make up the Stege Division while All American Services, John L.
Ziegenhein & Sons, Kreigshauser Funeral Homes, and Markwort Sporting
Goods make up the Young division.

In the Young Division, the two iron men pitchers of the club Jeff
Vilmer and Bob Eller (146 innings and 166 innings respectively last
year)will square off followed by veteran Tim Kobler and Chuck Koenig.
In the Stege Division last year's MVP Denny Roedner and his fellow
pitchers, Sellers, Greaves and rookie Ryan Hood will go to the mound
in search of a jacket.

The big lefty Mike Jockish (lifetime E.R.A. 0.09)will not be pitching
this year as he will be taking the season off following surgery. Boy
are batting average going to sore this year!

Anyway, it looks to be another interesting season in St. Louis.
