Well the South St. Louis Corkball League is just about at the half
way mark of the 2004 season and here's how things stand.

In the race for the jacket, Wintergreen Homes leads the league with
23 points followed by AMG at 21 points, Markwort Sporting Goods,
Kriegshuaser Funeral Homes and Ziegenhein Funeral Homes all at 16
points, and Reinhold Flooring at 15 Points.

The batting race goes like this: Jeff Vilmer, .475, Kevin
Cockrell, .471 (must be an even numbered year) Tim Kobler, .455, Tim
Sallee, .448, Denny Roedner, .446, Bob Eller, .438, Mike Wyatt, .434,
and Jeff Greaves, .406.

Top pitching E.R.A.'s Mike Jockish, 0.09, Denny Roedner, 0.13, Jim
Sellers, 0.32, Chuck Koenig, 0.38.

Most pitching wins: Denny Roedner, 9, Jim SEllers, 6, Bob Eller, 6

Most pitching Ties: Mike Jockish, 8, Jeff Vilmer, 6

Wintergreen Homes leads the Stege Division by 7 points and AMG leads
the Young Division by 5 points.

Rookie Larry Melton is Hitting .325 with a home run and a triple.

Tonight we will have an early season jacket showdown as Wintergreen
(23 points) squares off against AMG (21 points). There is no
forecast for rain thus, Wintergreen's Captain Harry Liep will not be
able to use any stall tactics in his game strategy tonight. Good
luck to both teams.
