Well the season is starting to get geared up for the So St. Louis
Corkball boys with the pitcher/catcher meeting having taken place a
few weeks ago.
There will be two new additions to the starting staff this year. One
is rookie pitcher Jim Sellers and the other a second stringer who
took over pitching duties for his team last year and ended up as
league MVP. His name Chuck Koenig.
Sellers was matched up with catcher Pat Meyer a crafty veteran who
hits for average and power while Koenig got matched up with old time
friend Brad Kestler, also a crafty veteran.
Other match-ups are Jock and Spann, Wyatt and Sallee, Roedner and
Leip, Vilmer and Jeff Meyer, Kobler and Thouvenot, and Eller and
Bower.
It looks to be an interesting season. Can Jock defend his title?
How will the rookie Sellers fair? Can Chuck pitch an entire year?
Can Sallee tame Wyatt? Will Roedner's arm last? Can Eller keep his
cool? Can Vilmer survive without Amoroso? Can Dave and Tim put the
ban back together? We'll see.
The draft is just around the corner on March 4 and the season is
schedule to begin on April 18th. I can't wait.
