Scouting Report

Batting:

Doc Willis--Concentrated on not swinging at balls off the plate and
consequently walked a lot. Had trouble hitting Scooter B, but who
doesn't?

Chente--Was hitting everyone consistently. Should be a major
presence in any line-up he's in.

Sweet Swingin Lou--Went back to free-swinging stance and hit the low
pitch with power as usual.

Johnny B--Didn't fare too well against Doc, but had a couple hits off
other pitchers.

The Kyd--Hit a two-bagger off John with men on base. His 1st spring
training game, the Kyd was getting his stroke back.

Scooter B--Needs to reign in that swing some. Fielding is great as
usual.

Pitching:

Doc W--Best outing since mid-late last year. Had great control and
velocity.

Scooter B--Threw hard with control, changed speeds, showed new curve
ball. Scary.

Chente--Improved control, good at changing speeds. Needs to improve
endurance.

Johnny B--Came in relief w/ no outs and got Lou and Chris out. Gave
up run scoring double to the Kyd the inning afterwards. Curveball not
there yet.

Tricky Lou--Emphasized heat. Used heat to set up effective change
ups.

The Kyd--Pitched mostly bp, but showed good control. Drumming gigs
kept him cautious about amount of pitching.

Next ST session: March 17, St. P(h)atty's Day...Fatty, Fatty!
