I know I'll get people started with this. The way
it goes down is like this when your young in St.
Louis you play fuzz at your local school yard (we
didn't have parks close by) after a while you catch the
eye of some vets. These guys play along side of you
for awhile to see what you got, after some time they
invite you to play hard ball. Once you play you'll never
go back. We used to play fuzz every Sunday at
different school yards (my fav was Cleveland HS aka
Wrigley) then we got recruited by SSLCC. We started
playing pick up games on our fields about my 3rd year in.
I'll tell you what the guys that play on Sundays have
raised their level of play 2 fold in the past 3 or 4
years and now it's tough to pitch in those pick up
games cause the lineups are stacked. Any way just
thought I'd let you know we do have a minor league system
of sorts (we need to get out and get some more
pitching soon). Hey Cole did you recognize anyone in the
stats? A few of dem boys used to play at Tower Grove on
the weekends before it turned into the crack war zone
it is today.

My brother, John, you state quite eloquently the reasons for the superiority of the real corkball. You are right about the break of the pitched ball and the ...
1.) The safety factor = the wildness factor + the lack of equipment factor. When we were in high school, we came together around corkball. Two groups of kids ...
3.) The balance of the game. We don't know how any change might work out, but my suspicion is that the corkball would lead to faster fastballs and more ...
