This is a question asked of Carrie Muskat, the reporter on Cubs.com. I just thought you'd like to see something with a little quote from him:)
I know the Cubs have very high hopes for Corey Patterson but when will his year come and when will he stop chasing pitches out of the zone? I'm sure Dusty Baker will keep him at the leadoff spot if he stops waving at pitches out of the strike zone. -- Curt H., Atlanta, Ga.
Right now, Patterson is the Cubs' projected leadoff hitter. Patterson has always batted third in the minor leagues and was never asked to do the things a leadoff hitter is asked to do, so the Cubs started from scratch with him. "The more you're in a certain position, the more you get familiar with it," Patterson said. "It'll take some time. I think I'm a pretty quick learner and I'll adjust pretty well."
