Berlin, Germany - Six athletes came away with a share of the $1
Million IAAF Golden League Jackpot in front of a crowd of 48,101
spectators during this afternoon's DKB-ISTAF Berlin, the finale of
the IAAF Golden League 2006. But there were one or two surprises
along the way especially the unexpected defeat of Tirunesh Dibaba in
the women's 5000m.

Brichacek smashes course record in Mt Ainslie Run Up, Tuesday 5 September
Emily Brichacek of Weston Creek Athletics Club today smashed her own
course record in finishing second outright in the Mt Ainslie Run Up
in Canberra. Brichacek, better known as a track athlete who last year
set a new Australian under 16 record for the 3,000m of 9:08, clocked
11 mins 48 secs to become the first female to better 12 minutes for
the 2.3km ascent of Mt Ainslie with an elevation gain of over 200m.
Two weeks ago she clocked 12:27 to cut a few seconds from Jackie
Fairweather's record in her debut run over the course.
Second fastest was Emily's mother Jenny in 14:20 and ultra distance
trail running champion Vanessa Haverd was third in 14:30.
Former Australian rogaining champion Adrian Sheppard was first in
11:31, equalling David Osmond's record of 25 wins in the run up.
Former Australian M45 duathlon champion Simon Claringbold was second
fastest male in 12:15 and Peter Young was third in 12:24.
