I tried, but I cannot even start a poll, Jennifer. Cannot see who all
is a member. I'm going out of town for
4 days, and will e-mail Yahoo! when I return to see what we can do to
take this group over. It can be done,
I've found.
Merry Christmas.

Rebecca,
I would just like to say I do not put down SB.
You have read things Suzie and I have fought about. I
do not like Suzies SB's that is not talking about all
SB's, All are nice. Anybreed is an incredible animal
whether they trot, pace, singlefoot, walk or some of
the funky gaits in between. They are just not all my
cup of tea to ride! If someone has a nice smooth
horse I don't care what breed it is I would enjoy
riding it I wouldn't care if it was purple with 3
legs. I don't pick on breeds I have simply defended
myself against someone trashing my horse. If you are
going to read posts that old please go back to the
beginig and read all posts so you can understand what
was going on.
Thanks,
Heather

Dawn,
The remarks are over a year and a half ago and
they are not towards SB they are torwards Suzies
horses. This woman has been hating Digger since
before I owned him. Suzie hates the UT line. Always
has. She has fought with Mr Mullins same as she has
faught with me. Digger is half Standardbred. Ut is a
full blooded SB that racks every step!

I would just like to say that I have not been on this
in months but I do have a lot of freinds on it and I
got an email last night that someone is starting crap
between suzie and I! Now I see. Digger is out of UT
and UT is a full blooded Standardbred but his mother
is not a Standardbred. Digger is Not FULL BLOODED
standardbred. There is NOTHING wrong with FULL
BLOODED standardbreds just not my thing.
Standardbreds are bred to pace or trot very few can
actually do a true rack. Suzie has a fast as shit
horse but they are not my cup of tea. I believe we
are in america and we are aloud to have choices. Yes,
Suzie and I have been at each others throats and have
said some nasty things to one another but that has
been quite a while back. Suzie hates Digger and
voices her opinion quite loudly. So I have just
rebudled. Sorry I know some of you Suzie followers
get mad but it is only my opinion. I do not care for
her horses. Again they are fast but not my type!
that is all I am saying. Quit starting more crap that
is why so many people have dropped off these yahoo
groups or just sit quitley in the back ground. There
are hens in these chats just waiting to stir crap!
Again, I AM NOT SAYING ANYTHING BAD ABOUT SUZIES
HORSES QUIT SPREDING RUMORS! I haven't been on Suzies
web sight in over a year and a half. And DIGGER IS
HALF STANDARDBRED there everyone heard it from Heather
the owner of Virginia GraveDigger. Please stop
starting crap and spreading rumors.

Hi Everyone...I told our friend yesterday that I would post this for him. We buy our hay from them, and this year, he has extra hay. We're in Texas. The hay is a mixture of (what is called) Bahia and Coastal. The closest thing I can think of to what is Timothy up north. Anyway, it is what we feed our horses through the winter. David works for a company that handles fertilizers, so it is fertilized.
He has about 350 round bales for sale. In Texas, I have found, that hay is sold by the bale, not by weight (tonnage). These bales are 5' wide, and 6' tall, round. David said that they get 28-30 round bales on a semi trailer. The bales are $35 apiece. The driver charges $1.65/mile. I've done some figuring below:
30 Bales x $35.00 = $1050. 1000 Miles x $1.65 = 165 0. $2700 = $90.00/Bale
You can Map It (the mileage) from Zip Code 77833.
Memphis is 637 miles. Nashville is 852 miles. Knoxville is 998 miles.
I will be posting David's e-mail address as soon as I find it (duh)...or call him. I cannot locate it this morning, sorry! Or I will call him sometime today.
I will also check with another friend of ours who owns his own semi. He's hauled hay to us from out-of-state for the last 3 years. I will see what his rate is.
I will say this...we're in the process of hauling the hay we bought from David (35 bales) to our place (with a hay wagon), and we paid $50/Bale for the same thing.
I know times are hard...we've been there, here in Texas, with a severe drought the last 3 years, so I know what you're going though, in the drought-stricken areas.
I will end this with: I will post a reply to this later today, with David's e-mail address, and if I can get ahold of our friend, what he would charge per mile.
If anybody's interested, and needs hay. Thank you for your time. +Pax, -Dawn in Texas
