ah, good thought on lane road. i do some training around beakman (sp?) park at lane and kenny. would be tough with a group, though. parking lot area could work as well.
i also find that just riding along the olentangy path, there are a lot of places you can work over.

I'd avoid Lane Rd. Park (by the library), it is a busy park and personally I wouldn't want to ruffle feathers of a venue you hope to use for a race later in the year. The Heritage trail bike path has great opportunities near the Hayden Run lot as does around the west parking lot of OSU (near the bike path).Just my 2 cents.Kirk----- Original Message -----From: Layne PetersSent: Thursday, August 07, 2008 1:34 PMSubject: Re: [columbuscross] Columbus Cross Practices - Lets Talk

All right, all the other cities across the nation are starting Cross
practices, I figure it's time we get on the ball and get some
conversations started.
I know we spent some time in Grandview at the corner of Grandview Ave
and Goodale last year with some folks. I am not so sure that is the
best place to practice, its small, they have little league football
and what not there sometimes and the park is just not big enough to
use in my opinion.
I was thinking we try two practices a week. I say Tuesday's 6:00 PM
could be down at Griggs, we meet up at the beginning of the frisbee
golf course road

and work our way north to Lane Road

turn around and go back. Somewhat of a trade - off follow the leader
game, up and down the grassy hill, around trees, over concrete picnic
tables etc. We can certainly find enough stairs, logs and hill repeats
here to get in a great workout for 2 hours plus.
Anyone have another 'Columbus location' for Thursday's Workout?
