All of the CCCX races will be run under USA Cycling permits/insurance. You will need a USA cycling license to race. I think it costs $60/per year but for the last 2-3 years they've had a discounted license come out in the fall since it expires in December anyway. It's great for people who only race cross but I'm not sure when it goes on sale. If you don't buy a yearly license you will have to purchase a one day license for each event. I think they cost $10-20 in addition to the $20 race fee. (still cheaper then playing golf!)
But!!! If you've never raced before and are going to try out a C race, we have a special deal for you! We'll announce the details soon but first time C racers that have never raced cross, road or mountain bikes can come out and try cross racing at a reduced price. We'll also have discounts for all junior and women racers.
A UCI license is only needed if you are an elite (cat 1-2) racer that is going to enter UCI races.
Hope to see you at a few races. It's addicting!

Hello all,
I'm new to the group, I just joined when I heard about the Columbus
cross series on another listing. Do you know if a UCI license will be
required to race in this? It has always bugged me to pay 15 bucks or
something, in addition to my race fee, to race. That's something that's
kept me from racing in the past (in addition to the lack of training,
motivation, fitness...)
Thanks,
Eric
