Re: Tips for a RR noob?

Ditto on what Nancy Said. The Thurs Night Crits are a great way to learn the
ropes a bit. I would highly suggest you go to them this week (start at 6:30) and
you will see what you might be in for...at Grandview.

I would suggest starting in the back of the CAT 5 group. Stay out of the inside
corners, while in the group, go to the outside.
Stay off your brakes, into the downhill corners and try to use them slowly,
avoid panic braking. Don't pump up your tires to 120 lbs.
Don't drop your water bottles. Watch your line, don't ride like Charley Weaver,
in other words, don't weave back and forth on the road if there are other riders
around you. Watch the half-wheeling, you will go down and take those behind you
down as well.

Also, Doug, the Grandview Race is considered a CRIT, not a RR. It's just over a
mile around that Broadview Loop. You may be climbing Broadview about 15-20
times...Can you climb in the big ring?

anyone else have anything?
