April 4, 2009 – Denver, CO Colorado Performance Volleyball Club (www.coloradoperformance.org) qualified fourteen boys to the elite USA Volleyball High Performance program during nationwide tryouts. More elite athletes were selected from the ranks of Colorado Performance than all other boys clubs in the region combined, proving that Colorado Performance is leading the growth of competitive boy's volleyball in the Rocky Mountain region.
The High Performance Program at USA Volleyball is the "pipeline" for young volleyball athletes who aspire to reach the elite level of their sport and who dream to one day represent the USA on the National Men's or Women's Volleyball Team.
Doug Beal, CEO of USA Volleyball said in a letter to the High Performance selectees "Each year I have been involved with USA Volleyball - currently as CEO and formerly as coach of the Men's National Team - I am more impressed with the motivation of young volleyball players to achieve the highest levels of their sport. Nowhere is this reflected more clearly than in the energy of a High Performance tryout. They are exciting events; and one cannot help but feel a sense of pride when looking out on the sons and daughters who are battling with their talent, energy and passion to achieve their dream."
"Colorado Performance is proud of all of our athletes and we congratulate those who were selected for the USA Volleyball High Performance program" said Ric Miranda, Boys Lead Coach.
