Well as we prepare for our spring 2008 season, the United States Youth Volleyball League is continually striving to provide organized volleyball programs for kids. With that in mind, we are currently looking to fill the position of Site Director at your site. The season should run from June to July. We generally ask our site directors and coaches to be there about 15 minutes early to help set up and check in kids.

If you volunteer as a site director your child's fees are waived for that season. What an easy way to volunteer and you are volunteering for the same amount of time as your child is at his or her practice and game.

The Site Director is the main contact person between their site and the National Office. They comply in spirit and letter with USYVL Philosophy, Codes, & Policies, and receive all necessary printed materials for the program from both the National Office and from registered players. They are taught to accurately and efficiently run parent meetings. They monitor the team rosters, help in recruiting and assigning parent volunteers for as many positions as necessary to help operate the league (i.e., t-shirt or ball distribution, sign in table, etc.), and distribute whatever handouts are needed to both players and parents. We usually have a large number of parents who are interested in volunteering, and we assign players and coaches onto teams at our office. Your main responsibility is to accept required medical release and volunteer application forms that have been turned into you (instead of the main office), check-in kids on a daily basis at practices and games, and maintain the first aid kit. This can be shared with your registration staff, but you would be the responsible party and we would ask you to be on site during all practices and game days; if you are unable to be there for any reason, you may ask one of your responsible volunteers to bring the required materials to practices or games.

We train you prior to the start of the league and keep in contact throughout the volleyball season.

I can be reached by email at Patrick@... or toll-free at 1-888-988-7985. Also please do not hesitate to recommend someone that you think may be appropriate for the site director position. Thank you for your time and I look forward to speaking with you.
