Big 10 overrated? A few years ago? Maybe. Now? Let's see. In the last
three years, the Big Ten has taken five (Michigan State 3, Wisconsin 1,
Ohio State 1) of the last 12 Final Four spots, including a national
championship (MSU 2000). Who from the Big East has been to the Final Four
recently other than Syracuse or UConn? Since 1989, six different Big 10
schools have appeared in the Final Four. That doesn't include a seventh
(Minnesota) that got busted for Clem the Gem's priority on academics.
That speaks of the power of the conference, top to bottom.
I don't really think these
coaches that vote have a
clue. Have you looked at the list of schools these
coaches are from? Most are small D-1 or mid-majors,
who seem to always vote based on popularity and past
performance. St. Joe's #10? Give me a break. The
Big East shoul have a couple more schools in there and
the Big Ten is always over rated if you look at their
post season record as a conference.

naturally. preseason polls have less validity than in season polls simply because of their nature. no one has played anyone, so they are even more of a guess....
