On a lark, I grabbed a ticket to the NCAA first/second round weekend
in Tampa. What an incredible day of basketball!

I've been in some really loud places before...at Raleigh when Jordan,
Perkins and Worthy made the 1982 Final Four....at Nashville in a
building full of Louisville fans over the first weekend in 2005...the
1985 Final Four in Lexington....and I don't know if any noise I heard
there compared to the shock/joy/sadness when Western Kentucky's
miracle 3-ball hit nothing but net with a red-lit backboard behind
it. Aficionados of buzzer beaters, this one was fandamntastic!

Y'know, there were some other games that were pretty nice, too, but
even San Diego's OT winner with 1.2 seconds left was kinda lame by
comparison.
