Rutgers Coaching Situation   Message List

Any word on the Rutgers coaching situation? Strong rumors about Waters being
bought out.

What was Rutgers thinking when they brought in a successor to Waters in Fred
Hill at the beginning of the season? That was just asking for trouble, and
essentially throwing away this season. If you're going to fire a guy, fire him,
don't keep him as a lame duck and then run his name through the mud (the bit
about blaming Waters being caught in a blizzard two weeks ago as reason to fire
him is in real bad taste).

My thoughts is that they wanted to give Fred Hill a year to work the recruiting
trail and let Waters just tank this year. Then let Hill come in next season
with a clean slate.
