All they need to do to the current system is add a
provision that says that, if there are still two (or
more) unbeaten teams after all of the bowl games
(including the BCS games) have been completed, then
there will be a playoff of however many rounds are
necessary (probably not more than two rounds would be
necessary ever) until only one unbeaten remains.

So, this year, if Auburn beats Va Tech tonight, they
would get a shot at the OU/USC winner.

I think that would make a lot of people happy. Some
people out there are convinced that there needs to be
a great big playoff system like college basketball
has, but I for one don't want that. Anything more
than about an 8-team playoff would significantly
reduce the excitement of the college football regular
season, in my opinion.
