Actually IIRC the Pac-10 was never big on the BCS idea, but the Big-10
was. The Pac-10 and the Rose Bowl went along with it so that they
could keep the Pac-10/Big-10 matchup, because the Big-10 threatened to
walk away otherwise. That's probably why the Pac-10 and Rose Bowl have
always been the groups to talk the most about walking away from the BCS.
