?? - Since when does any teams perceived schedule have anything to do with where
they should be ranked? Before last year began, USC looked like they would have
formidable opponents in games at Auburn and at Notre Dame, but thanks to the
reality that Auburn was anything but a #1 team last year, they took a beating in
the SOS. The bottom line is that if you win all your games, you'll play for the
National Championship. The team with the best shot at that is USC (a fact
solidified not by speculation, but by actual Vegas lines). Therefore it
actually makes sense that USC is ranked #1.

I can understand LSU and Georgia, and even Oklahoma up there, but not
USC. I would put them more around 6th. They did beat a pretty tough
Michigan team in their last bowl. It's just this year, they play 1,
yes, just 1 ranked team. Now, many people look at that and say, well
since thier schedule is so easy, they should be able to go
undefeated. I think otherwise. I feel that their tremendously easy
schedule (Cal is the only ranked team, and the game is at USC) will
hurt them with the voters and IF they lose 1 game, that will
completely flush them down the toilet.
Georgia, on the other hand, has a tremendously tough schedule. They
play LSU, Florida, Tennesee, Auburn who are all ranked teams.
Also, Miami doesn't really play anyone except FSU. But, it's Miami,
and I think most people don't care.
Anyhow, what are some of your thoughts?
