very cool. Having grown up in Lancaster county...I would love to play this.
However, being 3000 miles away doesn't work. Is this just a once a year type
thing?

It has obviously been too long since I've been to Codorus. Today was
the first time I've played the new Blue 8 position. Very nasty.
Every time I play at the Cod I'm reminded of what drew me to disc golf
and everything I love about it now.
Jay. you are my hero! I hope Bill and the Zinns didn't drink your
share of your Harvest winnings before the saw you!
We will be out again tomorrow at 6 to play doubles. A group of us
have been still playing but I just wanted to let anyone else know that
it is still going on. So if you want to play feel free to meet at the
practice basket on the blue course. Try to be there a little
beforehand so we can get things started because of it getting darker
earlier as of late.

The easiest way is to take route 74 north. Pass through Dover and turn
right onto Alpine road a few miles outside of Dover. Turn left into
the day use area for boulder woods. The Quaker's challenge is on the
other side of the lake which you can get to by continuing to follow
alpine road to the stop sign and make a left. the entrance will be on
your left. Hope this helps!

I have two lost discs found at Pinchot with the only a PDGA #21740 on
the discs. The number belongs to Jesse Yingling in Dallastown, but he
does not have number listed in the phone book.
Anyone know a contact for Jessie...cell phone #, email ?????
I would assume he does not get many lost discs returned. He did play
in the Codorus spring tournament this year.
If anyone knows him, have Jessie call me at 717-566-9099.

Matt,
In most tournaments you dont' necessarily have to be a PDGA member to play
however with that being said, you do have a few added benefits in becoming a
member. First, in most tournaments, you do pay a lower price for the entry fee.
(Usually $10) Second, the PDGA will keep a record of all of the tournaments
you've played so you can actually have something to track yourself with. I have
to admit that I always look forward to see the tournaments I've played in past.
It gives me an idea of my progress. (Or digress? )

Thanks Mike,
When you say amateur though, do you mean registered as such
within the PDGA. I simply meant that I haven't played alot. In other
words, do you have to be a PDGA member to go to these events like
Llamapaloosa? Or do a fair number of people who only play once or
twice a week show up? I think it would be a lot of fun to go to an
event like that. But I just want to gauge if it is worthwhile to put
down money to get embarassed? I'm assuming a good score is like a 54
which is par for codorus, I believe, and I know I can't get that low.
Haha.

Hey Brad & COD-ites,
I obviously haven't gotten the word out enough. Nothing going on this weekend?
What about the Ace Race at Creekside?
So, with that said, a reminder to all... Creekside Disc Golf Club is holding a
combined event.
The kids will have run of the course in the morning as none other than Shaun-mo
'Coach' Manatt will be TD'ing his first event at the 16 and under Junior Jam.
Then after the kids finish and lunch is complete, it will be the adults turn.
Registration for the Jr. Jam will begin @ 830am with a 10am shotgun start. 1
round from either the Jr. tees or concrete (depending on age) with lunch, a
disc, & mini marker included in the $10 entry.
Registration for the Ace Race will begin @ 2pm [if not done in advance by
emailing me directly @ 'r8rfn1 @ yahoo dot com' [remove spaces when typing it]
with a 3pm start. 2 rounds of one throw per hole, get the Ace, hit the basket,
or above or get nothing (the catch is that EVERYONE throws the same prototype
disc that comes in the player pack.) All holes are between 170-250 feet. $25
entry includes 2 prototype discs, Super-color Ace Race mini marker, & a ball
cap($55 value). The event will go very quickly, both rounds will be over within
3 hours with a 1/2 hour break between rounds. Hurry and per-reg if you can, only
10 spots left.

Looking back, I haven't the slightest idea as to where I came up with
the idea that the 22nd was a Saturday, der.
Regardless, 8 of us made it out to Codorus this past weekend and had a
great time throwing. The course was beautiful and we all enjoyed
ourselves immensely. While we saw a few different groups out playing,
it wasn't crowded by any means. We had no problems locating the
course(s) in the park or the baskets once we got playing.
The campground in the park is also very nice. The sites are spacious &
shady and restrooms are conveniently located. Electric & water hookups
are available and they do allow (restrained) pets on some sites. Adult
beverages are not permitted and that policy is enforced. The campsite
was busy, so reservations might be a good idea.
Thanks to those who have put all the work in to make Codorus such an
enjoyable experience. We'll definitely be back, but will likely look
for a non state run campsite. Suggestions as to where to camp would be
welcomed & appreciated!
Hey Bill-
No events are going off this weekend, but you'll likely run in to some
folks when you get out and play! Codorus is looking great right now,
and Boulder Woods/Quakers Challenge is being prep for Llamapalooza, so
I'm sure they are looking top notch as well.
As far as camping, my parents have camped at Codorus around 3 times
this year, and I believe they will be up there this weekend as well.
They have a pop up and haven't seemed to ave any troubles.
If you want to ask him any specific questions, email Greg.

Good luck!

Hi Matt,
You'll find a bunch of events for ams lilsted under the PDGA website;
specifically under PDGA tour. In most events, there will be ams involved.
Something that will be occuring soon that will have ams is the Llamapaloosa on
August 17 at Gifford Pichot.
Here's the link to their site.

My wife and I were thinking about coming up to Codorus (from Northern
Delaware) and playing this Friday & Saturday (maybe also hitting
Gifford Pinchot one day) and just wanted to make sure that we weren't
dropping in during the middle of a big tournament.
Also, any tips on pop-up camping at Codorus (ie. sections of the park

I've heard great things about Codorus from the guys I've played with
at Brandywine so I'm looking forward to this weekend.

Hey there folks!
Seven of us will be at Codorus on Saturday. If anyone is interested in
tossing a round and looking for some companionship and a little
friendly competition, we're happy to provide it!
We'll be camping the night prior, so hopefully won't get too late of a
start, but I'd guess after it'll be sometime after 10 (being we're all
big fans of leisurely campfire breakfasts.)
Really looking forward to the course (& the weekend!) hope to see you
out there!
