Wilkes-Barre, PA --- Gordon's Jin MS, driven by Wally Henessey,
equaled a world record for a 2-year-old pacing fillies on a five-
eighths mile track in winning one of four divisions of the
Pennsylvania Sire Stakes for 2-year-old fillies on Sunday night at
Pocono Downs.
The 2-year-old Real Artist filly by Jin Blossom out of Precious Bunny
stopped the timer in 1:523 and equaled the world record of Oldies
Fame, established on August 30, 1998 at Rideau Carleton Raceway in
Ontario. Dave Wall was in the sulky behind Odies Fame. The previous
track mark at Pocono Downs for a two-year-old pacing filly was 1:534,
set by Maudlin Hanover on August 22, 1998 with Dave Palone in the
bike.
Gordon's Jin MS is trained by Ray Van Dreason and owned by Craig T.
McEvoy of Cassleberry, Fla. This was her third win in seven starts
this year with four seconds.
Hennessey sat third at the opening quarter behind the front-runner,
Easy Going Hanover, piloted by Ray Paver, Jr. The opening panel was
clicked-off in :27. It was shortly thereafter that Hennessey tipped-
out and became the new leader in the eight horse field, getting to
the half in :56 and to the three-quarters in 1:243.
Gordon's Jin MS won by one and one-half length over Heather's
Western, driven by Mike Wilder, with third going to Easy Going
Hanover.
