Monticello, NY --- On Sunday afternoon, August 18, fans attending the
races ast Monticello Raceway will be treated to 15 wagering races,
marking the first time that the Mighty M has had a betting card of
that magnitude.

The combination of having more horses available to race combined with
the extremely popular New York Sires Stakes program, Monticello
Raceway is enjoying is biggest summertime horse population in recent
memory.

"Our bigger pools have increased our daily wagering averages and have
helped subsidize two purse increases over the past month, which is
perhaps the major reason that our horse population is the best it's
ever been since I've been involved with the raceway," said track
president Cliff Ehrlich.

"And, of course, the growing stature of the Sire Stakes racing helps
bring a consistent flow of classy horses to tracks throughout the
State."

Sundays stellar card features six $8,300 races for New York-bred 2-
year-olds and five $8,300 events for New York-bred 3-year-olds in the
New York Sire Stakes Late-Closer program.

Along with those events are the weekly $4,600 Open pace and the
weekly $4,000 Preferred pace.

First race post time will be the usual 1:05 p.m. (EDT).
