Donadoni Extremely Satisfied With Napoli’s Triumph Over St. Polten
The boss of the Partenopei was very pleased with his side’s performance last
night.
21 Jul 2009 00:10:56Napolikicked off their pre-season campaign with a
comfortable 2-0 victory
over St. Polten last night, in a match that was played near the Italian
club’s summer camp in Austria.
Despite struggling early on, two
goals in the latter stages of the second half to German Denis and the
new signing Juan Zuniga proved to be enough for the Azzurri to ease to
victory.
At the completion of the contest, the coach of the Partenopei, Roberto Donadoni,
commented on the performance of his side.
“I
am very pleased with the response shown from my boys after this first
test,” Donadoni affirmed in an interview, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.
“Obviously it is early in the pre-season, but there is still so much room for
improvement, which is comforting to know.
“I
am satisfied with our overall performance tonight though, as after a
tough ten days away here in Austria, everyone still gave their all and
contributed.
“The commitment and ambition of these players has
to be commended, and I am looking forward to the season for this very
reason. This group can do great things, and it will be the start of a
new project for the club.”
