Denis the Menace: Napoli new boy German Denis breaks Bologna hearts with his
late winner.
Napoli continued their pre-season preparations by defeating Austrian side St.
Polten 2-0 on Wednesday evening.
The Partenopei are currently on a retreat in Austria and managed to defeat their
opponents with two late goals.
The
first-half showed that Napoli were clearly struggling, as they created
just one opportunity, but things changed in the second-half as coach
Roberto Donadoni introduced a number of substitutes, including Ezequiel
Lavezzi.
Striker German Denis opened the scoring mid-way through
the second-half by redirecting Francesco Montervino's cross into the
net and new signing Juan Zuniga made the points safe with an incredible
goal.
The Colombian dribbled past three opponents before
dispatching the ball into the net and was moved to tears by the
applause from the crowd.
Overall, Donadoni will be pleased that the club's pre-season is continuing in a
positive manner.
Napoli starting XI: Navarro; Santacroce, Rinaudo, Contini; Montervino, Blasi,
Amodio, Pazienza, Rullo; Denis, Datolo.
