Napoli plunging into despair.

Lazio have emerged from their crisis, but Napoli were still mired deep in that
tunnel with two points from eight games, not aided by a fractured metatarsal
that rules Walter Gargano out for the season. Amid reports of fisticuffs in
training and increasingly angry fans, the pressure was taking its toll.

Napoli goalkeepers Gennaro Iezzo and Matteo Gianello were injured. Edy Reja
switched to a 4-3-1-2 system.

Muslera got down well to parry Ezequiel Lavezzi's strike set up by Marek Hamsik
from eight yards. Mauro Zarate drilled wide from distance and Marcelo Zalayeta
nodded Michele Pazienza's cross over.
Cristian Brocchi hit the side-netting at the end of a well-worked team move
involving Goran Pandev and Zarate's flick.
Muslera rushed off his line to smother at Lavezzi's feet, then Zalayeta turned
another header over. Matteo Contini was fortunate to escape without a card when
he appeared to elbow Zarate as they fought for the ball on a Lazio
counter-attack.
Muslera stuck up a hand to palm Salvatore Aronica's snapshot out from the near
top corner of the net.
However, some dismal defending allowed Lazio to take the lead. Tommaso Rocchi
had been on the field for less than 60 seconds when a Napoli free kick was
cleared up field by Pasquale Foggia and he ran from the centre circle to place a
low drive past Navarro at the near post.
Napoli fought back, but Lazio doubled their lead with an inspired Rocchi finish.
The free kick took a deflection and the veteran did not hesitate to trap and
half-volley from 10 yards.
Lavezzi's free kick wasn't far off the target, while Paolo Cannavaro had to play
on for the final 15 minutes despite limping heavily, as Napoli had completed
their substitutions.
Muslera denied Aronica's left-foot effort, Hamsik's strike and Christian
Maggio's header, but Napoli were jeered off the field.
