Napoli - the bomber, the youngster, the leftie and the gladiator. Four goals
to warm the hearts on "ferragosto". Napoli beats Cesena 4-0 with goals from
Calaio`, Hamsik, De Zerbi and Domizzi.
The result was nearly sealed by half time with Hamsik scoring his first
official goal in a Napoli shirt following the opener from Calaio` which he
set up. In the 67th minute De Zerbi entered the game and and showed a bit of
his class with a cracking left foot shot into the top corner.and served up
Maurizio Domizzi at the end of the game to wrap it all up.
Before the game De Laurentiis went into the changerooms to incite the squad,
the president couldn't attend the game due to conflicting commitments in
Rome. It seems his words had an effect as Napoli got off on the right foot.
In the 12th minute Grava crossed from the right, Calaio` dived to meet it
but missed the ball by very little. Not long afterwards Lavezzi shaved the
post from distance. In the 20th minute the first goal came from a cross by
Hamsik following a long build up, it was Calaio` who put the ball in the
back of the net. In the 27th minute Lavezzi found Rullo who turned and shot
on goal with Berti just managing to tip the ball over the bar.
In the 39th minute Napoli scores again, a triangle was played by Hamsik and
Lavezzi finding Hamsik in a good position, he slotted the ball away with
ease. In the second half Cesena was down to ten after just nine minutes when
Sacilotto was sent off after violent play against Rullo. The floodgate
opened for Napoli, Domizzi rattled the crossbar with a freekick, in the 30th
the third and most spectacular goal came from De Zerbi's left foot. It was
he who put a cross onto the head of Domizzi in the final minutes. Onto the
second round now, Saturday night Napoli will face Pisa at home.
