NAPOLI
Club and team are changing face.
Paolo Cannavaro and Maurizio Domizzi are Napoli’s first acquisitions.
Marino, he starts from the defence and recruits 2 midfielders able to make the
difference in Serie B as well as in A. Cannavaro Junior has cut all ties with
Parma, his thanks - a 5 year contract for a player who has also made a financial
sacrifice in order to pull on a Napoli shirt.
Domizzi, born in Rome in 1980 will be jointly owned with Sampdoria. A naturally
left-footed player, he has Antonelli as representative, the same guy who
manages Bucchi. Walter Novellino, who had Domizzi at Samp, guarantees he’ll be
in perfect tandem with Cannavaro: ‘Well done on Napoli’s market swoop. I know
these two players well, the Napoli defence will have great efficiency. Domizzi
is very good and has had an excellent season with Ascoli.
‘I am proud of my 5 goals and 34 appearances’ – says Domizzi. I thank Napoli for
having focused their efforts on me. Cannavaro and I together? We can do great
things. I prefer to play on the left and I like to take penalties. I accept
Serie B because I am fascinated by Napoli and the consistency of De Laurentiis’
project. A project that is keeping him and the general director very busy: the
first will make the club stronger, the second will make the actual team more
competitive. Marino has a trip to Germany planned for the World Cup.
Within a few days Alessandro Formisano, a young Neapolitan professional, will
sign with Napoli to strengthen the Marketing aspect. He will be the creative
force within the club: he will instigate innovative methods of sponsorship and
advertising space capitalisation within the San Paolo; he will be responsible
for licensing, who would like to have the Napoli brand associated with their
products.
They are ongoing, in the meantime, the negotiations are going ahead to
strengthen the relationship with Acqua Lete, the first sponsor. The club and
company from Caserta have declared themselves to be, until now, satisfied,
judging this to be a positive and interesting first time experience.
All at once we have on the President’s table interesting offers from companies
ready to take over from Robe di Kappa: Diadora, Nike, Puma, Adidas and Reebok.
Lastly Luigi de Laurentiis, the President’s son, is creating the Napoli website,
taking advantage of his experience with websites dedicated to the films of
Filmauro’s.
