Back in Serie B!

Thanks to today’s victory over fellow former top flight team Perugia, Napoli can
celebrate their return to Serie B.

The Azzurri earned a 2-0 win over Perugia with goals from Calaị and Capparella
and rivals Frosinone fell 3-0 at Chieti.

The two results combined to open up an unassailable 12-point lead at the top of
Serie C1 Girone B with three games left to go.

Napoli are automatically promoted into Serie B and the party is in full swing at
the Stadio San Paolo, where 50,000 fans turned up to see a Third Division tie.

The once glorious club that won two Scudetto titles was relegated to Serie C1 in
the summer of 2004 after going bankrupt.

Promotion dreams were dashed in the play-offs last year, but the Azzurri can now
return to Serie B under the guidance of Coach Edy Reja.
