Napoli draws 1-1 at Foggia in the final match of round 30.

Another step towards Serie B for Napoli. The (1-1) draw with Foggia brings the
Partenopei closer to a return to Serie B. With a nine point advantage over
Frosinone just four games from the season's end, securing promotion should be
only mathematical. On Saturday with Napoli at home to Perugia and Frosinone at
Chieti it could be the day for celebration.

Foggia and Napoli didn't save themselves for later battles in their encounter on
the weekend. The ladder was not conducive of a passive match in any case. Napoli
were looking to take another step towards Serie B with five wins and a draw in
the last six matches under their belt, whilst Foggia had to go for a result to
shake the spectre of play out's just to stay in the division. The result was a
hard fought and intense match which only died down in the second half after the
heat and tiredness got the better of the two sides. A fair draw all in all and
one that suits both sides.

Reja changed nothing from last weeks team or indeed the team of the last few
matches. The strong wind affected the match from the start. Napoli in the first
half pushed hardest, and missed two good chances through Trotta and Capparella
but controlled play from the outset. The home side responded with raids down the
right by Frezza and runs from Cantoro in attack, the player who scored twice in
their meeting at San Paolo earlier this year. In the second half Napoli picked
up the pace. Foggia went ahead through Frezza and boyed on by the goal nearly
made it two. Reja was sent from the bench but even without it's coach Napoli
found an equaliser through Calaio`, it was his sixteenth for the season and
etches the side to the brink of promotion. The big day is next Saturday.
