With a double from the Sicilian striker and a goal from Motervino, Napoli
defeats Pisa and confirms it’s position alone at the top of the table.

The Napoli coach was without Savini and Pia for this match and had to count on
Giubilato in defence and Sosa and Calaio in attack.


In the 7th minute a run into the area from Capparella ended with a shot that was
deflected wide by Puggioni. In the 14th minute a one – two between Calaio and
Sosa and a shot from Bogliacino that went over the bar. In the 16th minute a
header from Pellechia and a great save from Iezzo who stretched to his left to
thwart the danger. In the 29th minute a glancing header from Sosa for Fontana
who let fly with a shot from the left that brushed the post. In the 37th minute
Napoli took the lead : a cross from the right from Motervino and a header from
Calaio. In the 43rd minute a long bal from Fontana: Lazzeri couldn’t control but
Sosa put the ball over the bar.

In the second half Napoli remained very positive. After only 20 seconds
SCopelliti brought down Calaio in the area, Calaio was given the responsibility
for the penalty and beat the keeper for 2-0. In the 12th minute a shot from
Calaio was saved by the Pisa keeper. In the 19th minute a touch from Bogliacino
and a shot from Fontana that went just wide. IN the 24th minute a header from
Sosa was heading for goal, only ot be blocked by the hand of Scopelliti. In the
27th minute a shot from Pasino was partially blocked by Grava and ssaved by
Iezzo. In the 32nd minute Iezzo performed two miracles saving from close range
to deny Pisa. In the 34th minute the referee sent off Grassi, for dissent while
sitting on the bench having been substituted in the 29th minute. In the 44th
minute Pasino went just wide with a header. In the 46th a cross from Grieco from
the left, was controlled by Motervino who fired a shot and Napoli led 3-0.

With this victory Napoli consolidates it’s spot alone at the top of the table.
The advantage over the cahsing pack could be increased in the next round with a
win over Sangiovanese.
