Lucky Napoli
The Southerners needed a stoppage-time penalty to earn a point at Vis Pesaro,
but sign Pescara hitman Emanuele Calaio’. Napoli had the better of the game
overall, but failed to create many clear-cut chances and were losing to Gaeta’s
counter-attack. A defeat seemed certain until the 92nd minute, when Pia fell
under Zappella’s challenge for a debatable penalty. Roberto Sosa’s spot-kick was
saved, but he pounced on the loose ball to ensure a 1-1 draw. There was more
good news for Napoli this weekend, as the club has signed Pescara hitman
Emanuele Calaio, who was still half-owned by Torino, for a total of £2m.
