Foggia Fall-Out
Napoli are in crisis after a 4-1 thumping to Giuseppe Giannini’s Foggia side
this afternoon. The club is sliding down the standings and had perhaps its worst
performance of the season so far against a side that hadn’t won in seven games.
Cellini scored with two headers before Tomei accidentally redirected
Montesanto’s effort into his own net to let Napoli back into it. However, the
second half was one-way traffic with Cimarelli’s angled drive and a Mounard
strike to complete the humiliating scoreline. There could also be repercussions
for Napoli Soccer after one of their fans ran on to the pitch and tried to
attack Foggia midfielder Mounard.
“We will make massive changes come the January transfer window,” warned director
general Pierpaolo Marino. “Who doesn’t deserve to wear this jersey will leave.
Coach Giampiero Ventura is not responsible for this attitude and his job is
safe.” The squad has been ordered into a pre-match training camp.
