Genoa-Napoli 2-2
Genoa-Napoli, the next to last match of this season, ends with a 2-2 draw.
Little of substance to report on, in the first half of the game. The
"partenopei" start off well, managing a shot on goal with a nice play by
Olive and Vidigal. At 19' Napoli barely miss a goal, with a Bernini shot
from outside the box, which strikes with full force, the post to the right
of Scarpi. Towards the end of the half, the team from Liguria wake up, and
engage Manitta, who needs to intervene several times to keep the score even.
A few minutes into the second half (48'), and Genoa quickly take the lead.
Bjelanovic heads it in, courtesy of a Marco Rossi cross. A minute later
(49') Mr. Castellani, the ref, gives a penalty to the azzurri, for a foul
by Cordone on Vidigal: Zanini takes the kick, and we're all even.. At 76'
Napoli take the lead, with Bernini, who heads in a Martinez cross. Genoa
draw even after merely five minutes, also on a penalty kick, which Grieco
strikes smoothly into the back of the net.
Gigi Simoni, Napoli's manager, seems content, judging by his remarks, at the
outcome of the away game at Genoa: "My team played a pleasant and enjoyable
match."
