All Howard County public schools will be closed

Just in ... The Town of Ocean City and its officials
are canceling the Sunfest Open Water Swim due to
potential dangerous conditions caused by the storm or
its aftermath.  We sincerely regret any inconvenience
.  The Sunfest Committee is working on returning

The CMYM swim team suits will be available for

our new team I need it yesterday (help please!!!).  A
suggestion of having a rock fish as mascot was

        And a special welcome to all of our new swimmers.  As we have
said before, we also have two new workout groups.  For those of you

      We will be having a team time trial at the Catonsville YMCA on

up as well as fill out event cards.  Cy's swimwear will be there, so
you can pick up practice suits and goggles.   They are also the

One of our newest members will be leaving us.  Andy Cook was able
to make it to the Moffet's party where he informed us that he has

Hi Everyone,

Well, I finally had the baby and will not be at practice on Tuesday.  Mary
Margaret was born on Friday, August 8 at 10:51 a.m.  ( Thanks for a good
workout Thursday night Mike and Ray)  We made it to the hospital just in
time, 9:00 a.m.!!!  She weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and was 21 inches long.
   Everything went great and we are both glad to be home.  Attached is a
picture.

****FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WILL BE COMING JUST FOR THE DAY****
  AS YOU HEAD EASTBOUND ON ROUTE 50,  JUST PRIOR TO CROSSING THE BRIDGE INTO=
  OC, THERE IS A TRANSIT PARKING LOT ON THE RIGHT WHERE PARKING IS FREE. YOU =
CAN CATCH THE TRANSIT BUS FOR $2.00 (under 60 years of age) FOR THE DAY.  Th=
ese buses run frequently to and from the Inlet, which is where our festiviti=
es will be occurring. You are given transfer passes on the bus, which will e=
nable you to ride all day on as many buses as needed.
As a result of many requests we have made arrangements with an OC bathhouse=
, two blocks from the pier, for a SHOWER AFTER YOU SWIM, at a discounted pri=
ce of $3.00 (regularly $4.50). We will sell tickets for this on the day of t=
he meet. We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to freshen=

Sunfest weekend is a huge one for the hotels and motels and finding a place=
  to stay can be a frustrating experience. We have done some of the footwork =
for you and gotten lodging information for hotels/B & B's in the Inlet area =
(from inlet to 33rd street).  Call each hotel at the number listed beside it=
  for additional information/rates.  Keep in mind most places have a two or t=
hree night minimum stay for Sunfest.

A total of 20 rooms have been blocked for us at the Seabonay Motel (28th & =
Oceanfront).  Poolside doubles are at a rate of $70 + 9% tax per room per ni=

There is a 3 night minimum stay.  This block of rooms will be CANCELLED AS O=

We will once again be having a catered BBQ/Picnic on the beach for all part=
icipants and their guests.  The wonderful food has received great reviews by=
  our participants of the past swim championships.  We are offering such good=
ies as fried/BBQ chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, cole slaw, maca=
roni and cheese, potato salad, fruit tray, fruit punch, iced tea, and assort=
ed desserts that must be seen to be believed!  Cost is $12 per person when p=
aid reservation is sent in with your registration.   A limited number of BBQ=
  meals will be sold on the beach at a cost of $15 per person.

Ray and I will be hosting our 2nd Annual Swim Team Awards.

It starts at 8pm (6/19) at the Tiber River Tavern in Old Town Ellicott City
( http://www.tiberrivertavern.com/ ).  We have the entire upstairs dining
room area just for us.  You are welcome to bring a guest.

The diner menu will be available and you can order everything from drinks
and appetizers to a full meal. Special thanks to Maura Dunnigan for setting
this up us.

There is a TV in this room and I have just compiled a 2 hour video tape of
the past year in swimming (still pictures with music) for our entertainment.
Also Ray and I will be doing who's on 1st ;-)

Awards start around 8:30pm or when most people get their ... so be on time
