I found nice site that has information on Hutch's.
http://users.pandora.be/jjrbmx/
My question is about pro racer handlebars.
The page states that Hutch Pro bars have an 28 1/4" wide with a 8" rise.
http://users.pandora.be/jjrbmx/hutch/HUTCHstuff.html
Ok, well from where do I start and end to measure?
From the inside or farthest edge of the bars?
How do I measure the rise?
My question is because I purchased a set of bars from ebay.
I am little cautious because for one, the PRO sticker was on the left
side, and there was no "hutch" sticker on the other side.
The originals had the "hutch" on the left side and the "pro" on the
right side. Correct?
I hoping I didn't just pay a bunch of money for a set of standard
hutch bars that came on a pro raider.
The guy I purchased them from has already ripped me off. I Purchased a
pro racer frame and fork. He stated the frame is in great condition
with no cracks. They arrive to only find both frame and forks are
cracked. He isn't willing to refund me my money so now unless
something changes in the next day or so, I will have Paypal refund me
my money and they can deal with this guy.
Kind of worried that I might have gotten screwed on the bars as well.
As many know my mother was currently diagnosed with terminal stage 4
lung cancer. We are currently taking care of her and could use a bit
of financial help. Every little bit helps.

-I have some on ebay right now. They are buy it now and I am lowering
the price periodically until the end of the auction or until they sell.
I would like to call it a reverse auction. The last set sold went for
$190 FYI probably 4-6 months ago and haven't seen them since let alone
in new condition.

I have a '83 Pro Racer frame and forks I am selling. If intrested I
will post some photos. It has my original Pro Neck Stem (Red), White
Skyway Rims, Dia Comp Brakes, Redline Monster Cranks and some other
bits and pieces left over for the Early 80's. I was still racing this
frame until recently, it is still a winner.

I'm looking for Flite black & white checkerd frame and bar pads?
I'm looking for a 1983 Hutch Pro Racer with these numbers 35710 stamped
on the bottom bracket. Some dirtbag stole it from me in 1985. It
belonged to one of my best friends that past away when we were kids. It
was stolen at Checker Drug Store in Westland, Michigan on May 12, 1985
between 4:20 & 4:30 p.m. I know this is a long shot but, who knows it
might turn up some day.

Its in ok shape cosmetically, no REAL structural flaws except for
where the dummy who had it prior to me tried to pull that seatpost out
(which isnt really that bad at all.
In answer to your question, it has the standard "HUTCH" downtube
sticker, but the only real distinction I remember on Pro Stars, other
than the individual stickers that said "Pro Star", was the diameter
of the downtube itself. This one is large.I Have attached some
pictures and will also post to the group as well.
the numbers, are as seen (barely) below: 229 228 with the 75 above. I
will get a better picture of the frame later tonite as this came from
a Camera Phone.
I Have a Pro Racer, that is an early model, Pre Serial # that has a
smaller downtube, could this be a different model? I do know its US
made from the way the Bridge is stamped and the lack of any
baseballs, "M-XXXXX" numbers or dropout numbering that could possibly
indicate otherwise. There are distinct crisp edges on the brakebridge
letters.

Pro Racer frames were serial numbered the same way regular HUTCH
frames were. Somebody most likely added the numbers you mentioned. But
post some pics when you get a chance. Does the frame actually have the
PRO STAR downtube decal?
Hey guys,
A quick question about a recent Pro Star frame I picked up from EBay. I
got it real cheap cause there was a Seatpost stuck in it. This was
removed without damaging anything (Luckily) but while doing so, I
noticed something that I really hadn't thought about until now, but I
noticed that the numbers on this frame (one set, stamped like from the
factory, and another like the hand engraved numbers you would see on
Aerospeeds to indicate length)
The numbers are:
Hand engraved: 298/299
Stamped: 75
Anyone know anything about this??????
Please help! I am thinkning I have a #75 Pro Star Frame, and would love
to confirm if possible!
I will be posting Pics tonite for all to see and judge for themselves.
Thanks!
Steve
