Well I owned the Aero Speeds I had for over 20 years and sold them for 200.00
dollars two years ago because I couldn't find a replacement spindle I was going
to put them back on my Pro-star and just keep it as a show piece and not really
ride it.Then I thought just sell them and put the money to another project which
I did.

I did not know how much they were selling them for at the time and sold them to
a friend of a friend for much less than they we're going for in the market.I
only got back into this two years ago and the cranks were just sitting around in
a box, after the sale replacement spindle and hardware kits were showing up on
e-bay for 200.00 dollars.Oh well I feel I blew a chance to put my bike back to
it's original state but I still ride it so maybe I'm better off. After all I
snapped them when I was 15 yrs old and only weighing 150 lbs. so at 33 and 185
lbs. they wouldn't stand a chance!

The Cranks are nice looking but are poorly designed and not practical for a bike
that you are going to ride.People that are really into the restoration and
collection of BMX think these cranks are a must have because of the collectivity
of them.Another web site I belong to is (www.vintagebmx.com) they had a few
threads over there talking about these cranks. They're is a guy out there who is
making these cranks from scratch but making the spindle from 4130 cro-mo instead
of the titanium original. They might be a little better but they also are going
for over 1k.

It is a known fact that a lot of the guys/girls out there collecting this stuff
are papered up and the thought of dropping 1000.00 dollars on a JMC frame or
Hutch Aero Speed crank is nothing to them.So basically if you want to hang you
got to have some disposable income to through around.(this guy doesn't)I'm just
glad I held onto what I had from 20 years ago or I'd have nothing vintage.

I KNOW THE CRANKS ARE RARE OF COURSE. THEY LOOK KILLER,BUT COME ON 1000.00 FOR
A SET OF CRANKS,MAN....NO WAY. REDLINE 401S ARE FOR SURE CLOSE TO BEST!! HUTCH
IS ALMOST THE BEST PRODUCTS EVER MADE! WHY SUCH A DEMAND ALL THE SUDDEN???

edawson29@... wrote: Why anyone would pay that much money for one of
the worst made BMX cranks in history is beyond me.If you are going to use them
save your money and buy some nice Redline or Profile cranks.I love Hutch but I
hate those poorly designed overly priced cranks.I had them on my prostar only
for them to snap on a gate start at a national.I still have the bike but run
401's on it.
Very over rated and I can tell you a matenance nightmare.

Nobody backed out except for the seller. He sold them to me for $700.00
(I sold my wifes car on his word) then he changed his mind (got me in
mega trouble with wifey)!Guy seems kind of greedy and was very cocky
said "if you sold the car you couldn't afford them in the first place"
what an azz.I wouldn't be surprise if he makes up an excuse and backs
out of the deal? But I do wish you luck!Keep us posted here ;)!
