entrevistó en exclusiva al Bofo Bautista.

MT: Hay personas que llegan al futbol por accidente; otras que nacen
con un balón en los pies, ya sea por provenir de una familia de
futbolistas o por un talento más fuerte que cualquier otra cosa.
¿Cuál es tu caso, cómo fue que decidiste y llegaste a ser
futbolista?

Bofo: Desde chico iba a todos lados con mi pelota. Yo jugaba en
Dolores a los 13 años en un equipo de puros familiares y amigos,
luego me vieron de Tecos y me invitaron a probarme.

Desde niño siempre estaba seguro de que cuando fuera grande iba a
ser futbolista.

MT: ¿Cómo se describe Adolfo Bautista en la cancha. Su
carácter, su
posición natural, sus cualidades y sus defectos?

Bofo: A mi me gusta jugar llegando de atrás. Cuando agarro la
pelota
me gusta intentar jugadas que el rival no espera. Siempre trato de
divertirme jugando.

En el pasado quizá mi mayor defecto era que me costaba trabajo
mantener regularidad, pero he trabajado mucho y he mejorado en ese
aspecto. Ahora soy un jugador que trata de aportar mucho más para
el
equipo cuando no tiene la pelota.

MT : La Selección Nacional se ha apartado un poco de tu carrera
luego de una etapa de cierta actividad cuando llego Lavolpe al Tri
¿A qué atribuyes este alejamiento? ¿Te ves en el Mundial de
Alemania?

Bofo: Si. Jugar en el Mundial es mi mayor sueño. Últimamente no
me
han llamado, pero yo no pierdo la esperanza. He madurado mucho como
persona y como jugador, y yo voy a seguir trabajando muy fuerte para
poder ser considerado nuevamente por el señor Lavolpe.


MT: La Copa Libertadores ¿Cómo ha sido para ti jugarla?
¿Qué
diferencias encontraste con el futbol mexicano?

Bofo: El nivel técnico es mejor en México que en muchos
países de
Sudamérica. En Sudamérica se juega con mucha garra y el
público
tiene mucha pasión.

MT: Llegaste a Chivas, al equipo con más afición de México.
¿Qué
significa para ti estar en el Rebaño? ¿Vestir la playera
rojiblanca
te ha cambiado la vida?

Bofo: Sí. Desde chico mi sueño había sido siempre jugar en
Chivas.

MT: ¿Cuál es el jugador que hayas enfrentado como rival que
más te
haya impresionado?

Bofo: El jugador que más me gusta cómo juega en el mundo es
Zidane.
Pero cuando estoy jugando me mentalizo para que no me impresione
nadie. En ese momento pienso que soy mejor que cualquiera de los que
están enfrente, y que le puedo ganar al que sea.

MT: Siempre hemos conocido al "Bofo" como un personaje
especial. Tu
calidad de crack, tu carácter que ha traído algunos exabruptos
en tu
carrera, tu discreción afuera de las canchas que contrasta con lo
mucho que llamas la atención dentro de ellas. ¿Cómo es
Adolfo
Bautista en su vida diaria?

Bofo: Soy tranquilo, me gusta escuchar música, estar con mi
familia,
salir a comer.

MT: ¿Qué hay en el futuro de Adolfo Bautista, cuáles son tus
más
grandes metas y deseos?

Bofo: Jugar un Mundial y después jugar en Europa

MT: ¿Qué se ve haciendo Adolfo Bautista cuándo tenga 50
años?

Bofo: Entrenando un equipo profesional ó entrenando niños.

MT: ¿Si no hubieras sido futbolista qué te hubiera gustado ser?

Bofo: Futbolista

MT: ¿Qué te da miedo?

Bofo: Que alguien de mi familia no tenga salud.

MT: ¿Qué es lo que menos te gusta del futbol?

Bofo: La hipocresía de algunos

MT: Del 1 al 10, siendo 10 lo mejor, ¿qué calificación te
pones como
futbolista?

Bofo: Eso no me toca a mí. Yo trabajo todos los dias muy fuerte
para
poder llegar a ser el mejor jugador de México.

MT: ¿El mejor gol que hayas anotado hasta ahora?

Bofo: Son varios que me gustan. Quizá por su importancia el que
metí
en la final con Pachuca y el último de Boca.

MT: ¿Has salido con alguna afortunada receptora de tu zapato luego
de un gol?

Bofo: Sí, pero no te puedo dar más detalles porque ella
tenía novio
(risas)

El encuentro terminó. Adolfo Bautista seguirá escribiendo
historias
sobre el rectángulo verde. La ya muy cercana batalla en la
Bombonera
de Buenos Aires roba su atención. El episodio ante los xeneizes,
sin
importar el desenlace del mismo, será una de las vivencias más
importantes del Bofo en su trayectoria como futbolista profesional.

Goals by Thiago Martins, Hector Cuadros and Douglas Sequeira vaulted
Chivas USA to a 3-3 draw against the Earthquakes on Saturday at San
Jose's Spartan Stadium. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/chivasusafans

Sequeira's goal, in the first minute of stoppage time, captured the
first MLS point for the expansion Chivas USA of Carson, CA.

The match picked up intensity in the final 15 minutes after taking
on a defensive posture through most of the second half. Sequeira
converted with a header off a free kick from second-half substitute
Antonio Martinez as Chivas USA overcame a late Earthquakes advantage.

Chivas USA had just conceded a one-goal lead by allowing two goals
in a five-minute stretch late in the second half. San Jose center
back Troy Dayak scored off a looping header from a Brad Davis free
kick in the 75th minute and Brian Ching followed with another header
in the 79th minute.

The Red-and-White had taken the lead in the 73rd minute when Ezra
Hendrickson delivered a cross from the right side to Cuadros, who
hit a powerful header into the far right corner to make it 2-1.

After going scoreless in its opener, a 2-0 loss to D.C. United,
Chivas USA did not take long to get on the scoreboard against the
Earthquakes, taking the lead just three minutes into the match as
left back Orlando Perez set up Thiago Martins.

Perez's cross cleared the head of San Jose defender Ryan Cochrane
and was collected by Martins, who chested the ball down and slid it
past onrushing keeper Pat Onstad for the first goal in Chivas USA
history and a 1-0 lead.

Despite the strong start, Chivas USA was unable to generate much in
the way of serious scoring chances in the first half as Onstad was
not forced into a single save.

And after establishing the majority of the possession early, Chivas
USA was put under pressure toward the latter part of the first half.
Chivas finally conceded in the final minute of the first half, when
Davis bent in a terrific free kick from the edge of the penalty area
to level the score going into the halftime break.

Starting center back Ryan Suarez had to leave the game in the 58th
minute from an injury he sustained during a corner kick collision
just a few minutes earlier, and the Earthquakes were able to take
advantage late.

Though Chivas USA took a second lead of the game, and even after the
two goals in quick succession from the home side, Sequeira's
battling header from the heart of the penalty area as he held off a
defender sent the expansion side back home with their first league
point.

Next Saturday, the Quakes head to Chicago to tackle the Fire (8:30
p.m. ET), while Chivas USA hosts FC Dallas (10 p.m. ET, HDNet) at
The Home Depot Center.
