**Some of the popular varieties that we're sold out of our Santa Clara Canner, Isis Candy, Branywine from Croatia and Monte Carlo. Our apologies for not keeping our website up to date but our webmaster
(Frank) has been a little busy as of late.
Please spread the word and encourage friends and family to sign up for our newsletter on our website. Free Bountiful Garden T-Shirts for a $10 donationIn a tactical blunder, we've ordered too many t-shirts and need to sell them to help offset our costs so if you're interested, please grab one this weekend or next at our booth.
HR 875 In something straight out of Orwell's 1984 and legislation that is almost impossible to believe, there is a bill in the House of Representatives called HR 875 that illegalizes Organic Farming!!! This is not a joke or a hoax. The bill was sponsored by Monsanto (*who
else??) and needs to be stopped. Read here (or do an internet search on HR 875) for more details and contact your congressman.
Urban Location Needed For Nursery Facility (a parking lot would even work).
We are in a long term search of a location where we can house our facility, which may consist mainly of a nursery, shops, facilities, etc. Ideally, the site will be centrally located to our volunteer base which is mostly around the Cupertino/Sunnyvale /San Jose area, has easy access to roads, parking, etc. and has running water available. Even a parking lot would work although we'd prefer soil so we can also grow tomatoes in the summer. Details regarding our needs can be found here.
Pick-Up Truck NeededAs we continue to grow and expand, our operation continues to require more and more equipment to keep up with our ability to produce high quantities of quality product. If you're aware of any one with an old pickup that they'd like to donate for a tax deduction, please forward this along to them. Since we plan to operate the vehicle for three years, they will get a write-off of the full value of the truck, not just what we could have sold it for.
Please provide Tomato Reviews this year on what you've grown.
Our Website has undergone
a complete revamping including an easier way to navigate through all of our varieties. This will help us decide what to grow more of next year and help confuse gardeners with more choices!! Anyone who has bought our tomatoes in the past or happens to have an opinion on a particular variety to provide their own comments and also give a rating. This way, visitors to the site can view things such as the top 10 rated tomatoes do see which types they want to grow this year. So, if you've purchased plants from us in the past and want to add a review and a rating for any of the varieties we have, go to the website, register, and go to the individual varieties and add your comments. This will come in handy in the spring as it will let us know which varieties to grow more of and help people (or
confuse people) by giving them more information.
Community Service OpportunitiesThe Bountiful Garden Foundation is a completely, 100% run volunteer organization focused on raising funds for humanitarian relief efforts (specifically post traumatic relief for earthquake, flood, hurricane, tsunami, etc. victims). If you're interested in lending a hand, helping plant seedlings, assisting in selling our harvest or any activities in between, we have an abundance of meaningful and fun activities for the whole family, from March through November. Interested parties please go to our volunteer page and submit your name/email to our volunteer list and we'll be in touch.
Thanks!!The Bountiful Garden Team
