Re: Tribe rotation

Hey guys - It's been a while since I've gotten in here. I have to
say I don't care for the changes from a club to a group. It is
harder to review the messages. But it is good to be back!!

Walte--I would write off Finley. He has had nagging injuries and a
39 year old back never fully heals. I see him going down at least
twice this season for short periods, but even when he pitches he will
be doing so in pain. Everyone feels good in late Feb-early March.
Let's see him in June.

I LOVE the direction this team is going. I was all for rebuilding
with youth and while the team will not come out and say it directly,
that is what they are doing. Finley and Nagy should not be given a
chance at this ballclub. There are too many young arms that need the
MLB innings. Giving them innings is ALWAYS a good thing. Finley is
probably playing the last season of his career and Nagy is physically
shot. Westbrook's injury hurts, but I heard he could be back in June
or July. I say the team should not rush him like they did Jaret
Wright and make sure his arm is 100% before he even sees a AA or AAA
pitching mound. Don't set him back a full season like Wright was.

And a liitle off the topic, I cannot believe all the people talking
about John McDonald's amazing glove. Is this amazing glove the same
one that made 20+ errors last year in AAA???? His injury hurts. But
the one that hurts the most is Cabrerra. I had high hopes for him.
I liked his glove in the infield as well as being able to take over
in CF if the young guys aren't as ready as the team thinks they are.

I like the look of this team. It may not be the dominating power
hitting team we are used to, but I think this will be a lot more
fun. I like going into the season not knowing quite what we have. I
like seeing the young guys develop. I think I may like this season
more than any of the last few when the team was a sure thing.

I'm not writing off Finley. I said he could be a solid starter if he's healthy. But I wouldn't expect him to be much better than average even if he is healthy....
