I don't much care about the age of the relievers we're talking about here. At
this point, Meloan has no value at all. He's done almost nothing remarkable the
last two years. Winston Abreu?? Big deal.
Indians are simply looking for arms that can get guys out this year. They gave
up a guy who has some troubling items in his stat line.

I gotta say ... I was excited to get Meloan, who I thought would
be a back-end reliever ... and I have been disappointed by his
progress to date, to be sure ... but ... great googly moogly, why
wouldn't you simply claim Abreu (at the expense of, say, Matt
Herges or any number of mooks) instead of trading a guy who is
still young and still has potential, while Abreu, for all his performance
this season, is going to be older than 32 for the rest of his life?
