2. Players in the news
Shannon Pohl (Prospect) has been keeping busy in
world-class competition, winning two matches in
the Pan American Championships in Lima, Peru,
taking a bronze medal in singles and keeping her
position as the second-highest American in the
world rankings.

She finished in the top eight in women's doubles
and top 16 in mixed doubles in Peru.

Earlier, Pohl won three semifinal matches to make
the finals in women's singles, doubles and mixed
doubles in the Chicago Badminton Open. She won the
women's singles and doubles titles.
