From the JHF Tournament Committee and CLBP:
Jenna's Heart Foundation is organizing a benefit tournament to
fight RETT'S SYNDROME on June 14 & 15 (Sat, Sun) at Elk Grove Village
Pavillion and we would like to appeal to each badminton player or fan to join.
This is the first badminton tournament being organized by a charity in the
Midwest. Please read about RETT's SYNDROME and all the way below.
You can feel good and have fun while contributing only a few hours
of your time doing what you love - play badminton!
We want a great turnout - and the entries have been a trickle! So we are
extending the deadline for the entry to Monday, June 9. Please mail
your entry asap so that we can plan for prizes, t-shirts etc.
The Elk Grove Pavillion is a great indoor location - with many Kids Play Areas,
old fashioned Carousel, showers, swimming pool and
nearby outdoor PIRATES COVE - a great affordable water theme park for
kids 2 to 10 years of age!

While you play your events, your family will have boat loads of fun!
PS - Say hi to the Elks at the Elk Grove Village preserve round the corner.
We also have included a Recreational Level for those not enamored with the
intense and competitive ABC format. If you need a partner, request one and
we'll help you match-up.
Also we will try to finish the entire tournament on Saturday itself - and so you
may be only required to spend a morning or afternoon at the tournament -
depending on the events you play.
SENIORS and JUNIORS! Yes, we have separate events for Seniors 40 and over
and Juniors 18 and under - Seniors - show us you still have what it takes and
Juniors - make a splash!.
We are planning to have raffles, silent auctions, kids/parents fun challenge
games.
Movies playing on TV screens will keep the toddlers happy and food/drink will be
available for sale.
PLEASE SHOW THAT THE BADMINTON COMMUNITY CARES by playing or even
cheering on at this tournament.

Jenna’s Heart Foundation is a non-profit organization that is primarily
dedicated to raise awareness, fund research and find a cure for Retts Syndrome
(RS). Rett syndrome is a neurological disorder, which affects brain development
and is seen almost exclusively in females. A child with RS is usually born
healthy and shows a normal early period of development, until around 6 to 18
months, when there is a slowing down or stagnation of skills. A period of
regression then follows when the girl may lose communication skills and
purposeful use of her hands. Little victims also often suffer from a condition
called apraxia, which restricts motor movements, meaning that these girls often
cannot walk, feed themselves or focus. Estimates predict that one in 15,000
girls will be born with RS. More information on Retts Syndrome and JHF is at:
