Attached below the notification participants at the 2005 games received. There
is no information about badminton in this letter but going to the registration
page at:
http://www.prairiestategames.org/badminton.htm
shows Badminton excluded.
Does anyone know why Benseville defaulted on the contract ?

However, the State Games at Colorado Springs WILL have Badminton. USAB informs
us that:
1. 2006 Colorado State Games will feature Badminton
2. 2007 State Games of America will feature Badminton (Nationally) and will
incorporate Rocky Mountain State Games. It will be held in Denver.

==========
2006 Games To Be Played In Southwestern Illinois

Dear Former Participant,

The 2006 Prairie State Games will be coming back to Southwestern Illinois,
where the Games enjoyed a successful 10-year run from 1995-2004. The Village
of Bensenville, which served as the Host Community of the 2005 games has
defaulted on the contract, leaving the administration of the Prairie State
Games no choice but to bring the three-day sports festival back home to
Southwestern Illinois.

This year we are planning on hosting many of the same top quality events in
the 23rd annual Prairie State Games. This year's competition will take place
on the weekend of June 23-25, 2006. The Games will take place all over
Southwestern Illinois and we will be back at several locations that have
become familiar over the past number of successful years.

Top venues that will again be used for the 2006 Games include: the Jackie
Joyner-Kersee Center in East St. Louis, McKendree College in Lebanon, the
Edwardsville YMCA's (Esic & Meyer Centers), the Family Sportsplex and
Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC) in Belleville, just to name a few.

On-line registration is now available for the 2006 Games. Individuals and
coaches of teams can register online via our website at
www.prairiestategames.org.

Opening Ceremonies will take place on Friday, June 23, 2006 when the Gateway
Grizzlies host the Washington Wild Things in a 7:05 pm game at GMC Stadium
in Sauget. It will be Prairie State Games night at the ballpark, complete
with the "Lighting of the Olympic Flame," athlete march and a brilliant
fireworks display following the game. Participating athletes with a PSG
credential will get in free, while parents and guests can purchase tickets
for $7. For more information on tickets to the game, please visit
http://www.gatewaygrizzlies.com/.
If you have any questions, please call the PSG office at 618-233-8665 or
e-mail me at the address below.
Sincerely,
Scott Winter
