2. USAB Board Candidate
CLBP avoids promoting a specific agenda. However, the USAB is an important
governing body for badminton in the USA. Milan Kratka is a well known badminton
enthusiast in Chicago and he has asked the CLBP members who are also USAB
members to take a look at his recommendation for a USAB board position. CLBP has
NO formal position on any of the candidates. CLBP subscribers should feel free
to comment on this which will be moderated and posted.
From Milan Kratka:
I would like to recommend David Shaw to those who are going to vote for USAB
Board of Directors. David has experienced badminton from a player (well, top
player) as well as coaching side. He would like to give back from what he got
from badminton and his experience could be very valuable in helping the sport
and its structure to grow. Below is a short statement from David. Please, feel
free to contact him with any questions. David's email is

Candidate Statement
After competing in international competitions for the USA, I would like to
further serve the game of badminton by being a member of the Board of Directors
of USA Badminton. In addition to competing at the highest level of Badminton, I
have performed badminton exhibitions, coached junior level players, and mentored
several younger players. If elected, I will work with and through others to
further develop the sport of badminton in the USA. Two developmental areas that
need to be addressed are increasing the number of younger players at the elite
level, and increasing the number of active participants in USA Badminton
Programs. I have the experience to identify what is needed by younger players to
help them reach the elite level. In addition to bringing new players to
badminton, I firmly believe that former players need to be attracted back to
participating in the sport
